Ensemble-Valhalla (EV) is the 3-day annual management, cultural, and sports festival of XLRI taking place from 23rd to 25th November, 2024. It is organized in association with all the other co-curricular and extracurricular committees of XLRI to create one of the most significant events of the academic year. The commitment to organizing high-quality events that enhance the traditional management education at XLRI has established Ensemble-Valhalla as one of the most anticipated events at the institution.

Over the 3 days of Ensemble-Valhalla, XLRI witnesses a plethora of over 60 events with a footfall of over 25,000 people, offering a holistic experience to the participants and the attendees. Alongside these events the team also organises the biggest pro-shows to light up the 3 evenings of the fest. The fest has hosted artists like Amit Trivedi, Salim-Suleiman, Divine, Nishant Suri, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Indian Ocean and Nikhil D'Souza. Through Idea Summit, the speakers' conclave, Ensemble-Valhalla invites well-known faces from different walks of life.

With the various events and festivities, Ensemble-Valhalla hopes to challenge and sharpen the leadership skills of the participants. It also aims to recognize and positively impact the community of Jamshedpur and Jharkhand.

DAY 1

Background 1

This event celebrates individual expression through dance, offering participants the freedom to showcase their unique style and artistry across any dance form. With a vibrant stage and supportive audience, it’s the perfect space to shine.

Background 2

This event begins with an eliminator round consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions on business concepts. The top teams will then advance to a strategy-based case-solving round, where they will receive a detailed case to analyze and submit. Shortlisted participants will present their solutions to a panel of judges, showcasing their strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Background 3

This challenging Science, Business, and Technology Quiz tests participants' knowledge and skills in these dynamic fields. Teams of one to four students from the same college compete, with the first round hosted on Unstop and the final round held live on event day for the top-scoring teams. Additional rules may be introduced by the quiz master to keep participants on their toes.

Background 4

This event challenges participants' imagination, creativity, confidence, and public speaking skills, embodying the spirit of Toastmasters. Teams of three compete in three elimination rounds, with only the top teams advancing after each round: 8 teams in Round 2 and 3 teams in the final round. The event will be held online, with video calls as the platform, and include 10-minute breaks between rounds.

Background 5

TechTack invites participants to demonstrate their product management expertise through a series of challenges. Starting with a quick 15-minute quiz focused on core product management concepts and tech knowledge, participants will then work on crafting innovative solutions for a product management case, putting their problem-solving and pitching skills to the test against top talent in the field.

Background 6

Compete in a multi-round business challenge that begins with a fast-paced quiz on MBA domains and current business trends, followed by a case submission where qualifying teams analyze a managerial scenario in a concise 2-slide format. The top teams advance to a live round, presenting their solutions and engaging in dynamic discussions to demonstrate the feasibility and impact of their ideas.

Background 7

This event begins with an eliminator round consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions on business concepts. Background 8

Enter a challenging HR labyrinth where participants tackle real-world dilemmas across employee value, job fit, performance, engagement, and retention. Success requires precision and strategy, as one wrong step could complicate the journey. Starting with a preliminary HR quiz, top teams will advance to a case presentation, crafting a concise 3-4 slide solution to showcase their HR expertise.

DAY 2

Background 1

Back to the Roots Back to the Roots is an engaging interschool quiz competition that tests students' general knowledge and awareness. Open to grades 9 through 12, teams of 1-2 students compete in two stages: an elimination round that narrows the field to 25 teams, followed by a final quiz round to determine the top three winners. All team members must be from the same school, though they can be from different grades.

Background 2

Compete in an engaging trivia round that tests marketing knowledge and brand awareness, followed by a case analysis requiring a 3-5 slide solution deck. Top teams will then present their strategies to a panel, showcasing their insights and creativity in this final round.

Background 3

'A Quiz on Everything' is a dynamic competition covering a broad range of topics—from sports and politics to films and wildlife, blending contemporary and classic trivia. Teams of three from the same college compete, with an initial round on Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete) and a live final round on event day for top-performing teams. Additional rules may be introduced by the quiz master, keeping participants engaged and challenged throughout the event.

Background 4

Helios, the flagship operations event at Ensemble Valhalla, challenges teams to showcase precision and accuracy in their approach. Compete against top talent in an online quiz testing operations knowledge, followed by a case study presentation where selected teams will deliver their solutions to a live audience and judges, proving their expertise in operational strategy.

Background 5

This quiz offers empowerment and sensitization activists a chance to test their knowledge on critical issues such as sexual harassment, voyeurism, gender rights, and related movements. Participants will be quizzed on prominent issues and influential figures working towards change, assessing their understanding and awareness of these vital social topics.

Background 6

A solo singing competition that allows vocalists to display their range and talent, performing in Hindi or English, with options for live instrumentation or karaoke. This is an opportunity to captivate the audience with a voice that resonates.

Background 7

Step into the world of Industrial Relations with Strike or Yield, a competition designed to test your skills in managing trade unions, strikes, and labor-related challenges. This event demands a perfect blend of managerial competency, negotiation tactics, and practical application. Showcase your ability to devise smart, effective strategies for navigating complex IR issues, proving that you have what it takes to thrive in the evolving manufacturing landscape of India.

Background 8

This event invites participants to explore imaginative 'what if' scenarios by rewriting famous narratives from TV shows, myths, or historical events. Teams from any college can participate and submit write-ups (300-500 words) or short videos and audio (up to 3 minutes) that creatively reimagine iconic storylines, such as 'What if Monica married Joey?' or 'What if Hitler was still in power?'

DAY 3

Background 1

Join the thrilling Football Auction-cum-Simulation event where teams build their dream squad through a player auction, followed by a knockout FIFA tournament. After drafting their 11-player squad based on quiz rankings, teams will compete, adjusting play styles during the matches. The team with the best strategy and performance will be crowned the victor!

Background 2

The 21st century is driven by innovation, and if you have a groundbreaking business idea, Elevator Pitch is your chance to bring it to life. Hosted by XLRI's E-Cell, this prestigious B-Plan competition offers a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to pitch their visionary ideas and compete for success, making it one of the biggest business plan events in India.

Background 3

This event puts entrepreneurial and financial skills to the test through a dynamic competition of quizzes and real-world problem-solving. Participants will start with a finance quiz, gauging their knowledge through a timed, multiple-choice format. The final round will challenge teams to create a 5-slide presentation that showcases both financial insight and entrepreneurial innovation, providing a solution to a complex case study.

Background 4

This event invites participants to capture creative photos representing popular idioms, with sub-themes like Caught red-handed, Hitting the nail on the head, The elephant in the room, When pigs fly, and Jumping on the bandwagon. Participants submit one image per sub-theme in jpg, jpeg, or png format, following a naming convention with their name, sub-theme, and email. Extra points are awarded for clever captions, encouraging participants to add a unique twist to their submissions.

Background 5

Societas is a competitive event focused on sustainability, where top students nationwide devise strategies to make businesses more eco-friendly and resilient. The event has two rounds: a multiple-choice Quiz that tests knowledge of sustainability concepts, followed by a Case Study where teams present innovative solutions to a real-world sustainability challenge. Final presentations will be held virtually during Ensemble Valhalla 2024.

The competition kicks off with an online quiz, challenging participants' knowledge and quick thinking. Qualifying teams will then analyze a case and submit a 3-5 slide solution. The top teams advance to the final round, where they present their strategies to a panel, demonstrating their analytical and presentation skills.
